Rosewood Development Westwood Intersection Meeting on October 6, 2016
The Agenda Packet with the intersection drawings and the results of the voting are posted at dnehoa.org
Thanks to the 114 people who attended the October 6, 2016 meeting with the City of Plano Planning Department and the traffic engineers, and Rosewood to discuss the Westwood intersection, once the road from the Rosewood Development is built. The City presented 4 options. The first option was to do nothing to mitigate the traffic coming from the Rosewood Development onto Westwood. The second option prevented traffic from going north from the Rosewood Development to Westwood, but no left turn from the Rosewood Development. The third option was named the “Mimosa” option as it is the same as the intersection at Campbell and Mimosa in Richardson. It does allow right and left turns from either north bound traffic or south bound traffic on Westwood, but no traffic allowed to go straight from either direction. The fourth option did not allow straight through traffic but only allowed right turns on Westwood at Plano Parkway and only right turns for traffic coming north from the Rosewood Development. The preferred option was Option 3 the “Mimosa” option. The third option also requires a traffic light to be installed when the intersection is built. No other option.
