Request for zoning change on the property around the water tower

REQUEST FOR ZONING CHANGE ON THE PROPERTY AROUND THE WATER TOWER

NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING ON MARCH 10, 2015 AT 7:00 P.M.

Sunbelt Storage has filed a request with the City of Plano to build a single story self storage facility (mini-warehouse) on the property that is currently home to several horses by the water tower on the north side of Plano Parkway. This tract is east of the memory care facility.

The zoning on this tract is for office. The Mini-Warehouse/Public Storage use is only allowed if a Specific Use Permit is granted by the City. A Specific Use Permit is to authorize and regulate a use not normally allowed which could be of benefit in a particular case to the general welfare. The issue is whether this proposed use is a benefit.

Sunbelt Storage has requested a meeting with the neighborhood to explain their request. The meeting will be on March 10, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1801 W. Plano Parkway in the Administration Building.

We look forward to seeing you there. If you are unable to attend, you can leave comments on dnehoa.org web site.

The proposal goes before the Planning and Zoning Commission on March 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The Notice from the City and the developer’s letter to the DNE HOA and the proposed site plan are posted on dnehoa.org web site.
