HOPE

by Editor
18 Oct

City of Plano Planning & Neighborhood Services is in the midst of a project to elicit suggestions for updating “south central Plano” from Plano Pkwy to Spring Creek Pkwy between U.S. #75 and Coit Rd. This effort began in late 2019, included a survey of 300+residents in-person and online, and 2 meetings, but was then interrupted by the pandemic. Three more meetings are planned – by zooming. See the information on the following flyer if you would like to attend.

Evasive Dogs again

DANGEROUS DOGS ALERT!

Happy winter to all!

The City of Plano has asked the HOAs to alert all residents to be on the lookout for 2 dogs that have bitten several people in Plano. They have asked all residents to CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY IF YOU SEE THESE DOGS! The dogs have been on the loose for several months. One dog is mostly black & is an Australian Cattle Dog & the other is a mostly white & black spotted mixed breed. They are medium sized dogs.

DO NOT APPROACH THESE DOGS! The dogs are very stealthy & have managed to allude all attempts at capture. Please be aware the black Australian Cattle Dog has bitten people from behind on the lower leg while they have been jogging or moving. This fits with the Australian Cattle Dog’s instinct to herd cattle, which they do by biting the heels of the cattle. Please be aware of your surroundings when you are jogging or walking briskly, as the black dog has surprised many who have been bitten.

Again, if you see these dogs, the City wants residents to CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY! DO NOT call Animal Services or any other city dept. before you CALL 911! The City wants to get these dogs off the streets & needs the public’s help in locating them as quickly as possible!

PLEASE CLICK ON THE CITY WEBSITE LISTED BELOW for photos of the dogs & much more information about the dogs.

If clicking the link doesn’t work, please copy and paste the link into your browser.

Please be alert to your surroundings when you are outside & CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY if you see these dogs!

Stay safe!

Tree Damage on Alma

by Editor
16 Nov

The following information is from Angela Kralik, Urban Forester with the City of Plano.  You can reach her via email at angelak@plano.gov.

Several trees have been hit by large trucks and have dropped limbs on cars over the past several months. They cannot be pruned up, because there is a Power Line existing that has already removed the upper canopy of the tree. Last month a Certified Arborist with Arborilogical Services, Inc. did a full evaluation on those trees and her recommendation is that 48 of the 59 trees need to be removed.

The Arborist has agreed to attend the meeting with me. I’m also hoping that someone from Public Works will attend to answer any questions about the future screening of that site, since we cannot put trees back in that location.

I would really like to speak with those residents directly impacted and we can talk about their tree.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 23rd at 6:30 pm at Liberty Recreation Center in Plano.
